Inspections
In accordance with OSHA, ASME/ANSI and manufacturers, lifting devices, slings, hardware and load restraining devices are required to have documented inspection by a competent, trained and designated person, conducted based upon severity of use, conditions, environment, and based upon experience. So many small and large firms contract with MIDCO to conduct the required inspections and documentation. These inspection may be conducted monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annually. This duration between inspections is based upon a firm’s usage of the lifting devices, hardware, slings and load restraining devices.
MIDCO will conduct, to standards, a detail documented inspection of your firm's facilities and equipment. Upon completion of the inspection, MIDCO will provide you with a detailed written report of the inspection. Each item and its condition is listed. Damaged or defective items are tagged and identified for you. Corrective recommendations are noted so that your firm can apply the necessary steps to meet compliance with standards and regulations. Your firm retains this documented record so that in the event that OSHA visits your location, you can provide them with a copy of the inspection.
Along with this inspection, MIDCO maintains tracking records to assist you in the maintenance of inspection records. We perform all the required administrative work for your firm. You firm needs only to maintain a file of the inspection and individual lifting devices, hardware, slings and load restraining device records. We update these records each time we inspect your firm. We can also be on site, should you need us, if OSHA conducts an inspection.

Safety Audits
Not only can we provide inspections of your facilities, we can inspect or conduct safety audits of your contractors and vendors. By doing this, we provide your firm with feedback on just how concerned your contractors and vendors are about safety.
Contractors are audited to determine whether or not they comply with basic safety requirements, required documentation, and compliance with what directives or policies and procedures you require of them. A detail written report is provided to your firm informing you of good results and deficiencies. We also provide recommendations that you can pass along to your contractors in order to bring them into compliance with industry and your firm’s standards.
Vendors are audited to determine whether or not they are aware of OSHA, ASME/ANSI and industry standards. We determine if they are able to provide you with quality products or if they are aware of the requirements on the products that they provided you. Many times, the local vendor is not aware of the requirements, but in good faith they are trying assist you in your needs. Our audit reports details the level of knowledge, quality of products provided, and levels of product liability that your vendors have. Recommendations are provided so that you may discuss any deficiencies with your vendor in order for them to better serve you.
Yes, we provide PRODUCTS also. However our locations may not be as easily accessible as your local vendor. Although we like to sell our products also, we understand your vendor may just be down the street where we may be across the country. This is why we provide audits of your vendors. If they are lacking the knowledge to properly serve you, we can assist your firm in building a better, more knowledgeable vendor. What good does our inspection and training do if your vendor is providing you with substandard material and equipment? Often, we encourage your firm to have your vendors sit in on the training that we conduct for your firm. We have seen vendors share in the cost of the training for the firms they serve. This is an idea to keep in mind. |
